Voters in Peoria County use a secure, accurate and easy-to-use voting system called Verity® Voting. This system is federally certified and meets our state’s most stringent standards. To cast your ballot in the polling place, you mark your choices on the ballot; then insert the ballot into the scanning device. You know your ballot was successfully cast when the machine displays the image of the American flag on the touchscreen.
The Help America Vote Act (HAVA) requires that election authorities throughout the country have voting equipment in place for voters with disabilities to vote privately and independently.
