Notice to Voters
Due to COVID-19, all 2020 General Election voters are encouraged to cast a ballot prior to Election Day on November 3, either by mail or during early voting. Voting by mail is an easy option for voters, and you can request a vote by mail ballot through email, mail, online, or in person.
Peoria County Election Commission mails 69,421 Pink Vote by Mail applications to voters in Peoria County. For voters who return their applications early, ballots will be mailed out starting on September 24, 2020, and the voter should receive them no later than October 5, 2020. For applications received after voting by mail has started on September 24, 2020, the ballots will be mailed within two business days after our office receives the application. Your ballot may be returned to the election authority by mail, or delivered in person. In person delivery can be by either the voter or by any person authorized by the voter, or by a company licensed as a motor carrier of property by the Illinois Commerce Commission under the Illinois Commercial Transportation Law, which is engaged in the business of making deliveries. If delivered, the ballot must be received by the election authority prior to the polls closing (at 7:00 PM) on Election Day: November 3, 2020. If mailed, postage is paid, and the ballot must be postmarked by Election Day (please note that special rules apply to a voter who has been admitted to a hospital, nursing home or rehabilitation center within 14 days of the election; you may contact your election authority for further information if this is your situation).
Drop boxes for will be available at the Election Commission office at 4422 N Brandywine Dr Peoria, IL 61614 24 hours a day and at all early voting locations.
