What are the requirements to register to vote?

To be eligible to register to vote, a person must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • Be 18 years of age on or before the next general election
  • Reside in the precinct for 30 days prior to the next election
  • Provide two forms of identification, one showing current name and address
  • Provide the last 4 of your Social Security number and/or your Illinois Driver's License or State Identification number.
